A Day in Jersey

Last weekend I spent the day in Jersey and, even if the rugby didn’t quite go in our favour, I had a great time with the camera. I even met the devil himself…

I’ve added some of the shots to my Scenic album.

Cinema Photography

My son runs a film night based at Guernsey Museum’s Frossard Theatre. As the Frossard has recently been renovated, he asked me to come and take some photos that he could use to publicise the screenings and the theatre. The images needed to capture the room itself and the cinema feeling when a film is playing, which meant combining a lit screen, with enough detail to highlight the seating. the film is also used as lecture theatre so I photos of both set ups.

You can see all the pictures here.

Weather not climate.

“I’ve lived in good climate, and it bores the hell out of me. I like weather rather than climate.” – John Steinbeck

One of the joys of being a photographer living in Guernsey is that the weather offers such a variety scenes to capture. So, whilst it’s sometimes tempting to curl up inside at this time of year, it’s much more rewarding to get out and about with the camera.

I’ve added a ‘Scenic’ album to the Gallery page, and will keep adding to it…

Underground Hospital Halloween Fun Run!

Now this was a bit different!

I hadn’t visited the German Underground Hospital in years so I jumped at the chance to take some photos of the recent fancy dress fun run that was staged there on 1 November.

The hospital itself is as intimidating a building as I remember and this event, with many of the runners in gruesome fancy dress, created a real one of a kind atmosphere. All of the photos from the event can be found on the gallery page.

If you have not been in while I really recommend a revisit. The opening times and further information can be found at www.germanundergroundhospital.co.uk.
